If you broke Elena's heart, Star Wars would spill out. So when she decides to queue outside her local cinema to see the new movie, she's expecting a celebration with crowds of people who love Han, Luke and Leia just as much as she does. What she's not expecting is to be last in a line of only three people; to have to pee into a collectible Star Wars soda cup behind a dumpster or to meet that unlikely someone who just might truly understand the way she feels. Kindred Spirits is an engaging short story by Rainbow Rowell, author of the bestselling Eleanor & Park, Fangirl and Carry On, and is part of a handful of selected short reads specially produced for World Book Day.
Here in the UK we celebrate something called 'World Book Day' to encourage children and adults to read more. They get the chance to dress up as their favourite characters and all fun things happen.

Each year, a number of authors write short stories that are for a certain age group. The books are usually £1 or can be brought with book tokens. I picked this up today in my local waterstones. Once i knew Rainbow was releasing a mini book, i knew I needed to get my hands on it.

We meet Elena who is a huge Star Wars fan so goes camping outside the theater (cinema) four days before the movie is due to start. Elena already has tickets. Here she's expecting a huge crowd and massive atmosphere. When she arrives, there are only two other people in the queue.

Rainbow instantly pulls you into Elenas world and love of Star Wars and its such a sweet, fluffy story. I loved every minute of it. This is a short book, just under 100 pages so will be easy to read.

And its a must have for any Rainbow fan.
