Meet the nymphs: living among us, they're forever young, dangerously seductive - and ever so deadly...
A young man is found dead after a college party in a small town. His body bears the marks of a brutal attack, but police are mystified as to the actual cause of death.
Afterwards, student Didi Tiensuu is approached by two mysterious women. Beautiful and other-worldly, they have come to warn her she is in danger. And to live, she must for ever leave her old life behind.
There are evil forces at work that mere mortals can never comprehend. And Didi is about to discover her past is a lie. The night of reckoning is coming and the choice is hers. Reject her fate. Or accept her destiny and embrace her power...
I requested this book from bookbridgr ages ago as it wasn't my usual read and i figured i'd try other books. It's is really good. It's been adapted to a TV show, which I've never seen but i always find books much more better than movies/tv. But anyways, this book provides you with a list of characters at the front, as the names can be very finnish. But I kinda bypassed that, i always get confused if i try working out who is who rather than letting a story just flow with it.
We are introduced to Didi who after a night of frist love, accidently kills the guy shes' with. The story goes from there, where we are then introuced to two nymphs, who are there to protect and take care of Didi and teach her the ways. Didi doesn't undesrtand all of this, and fights tooth and nail. But each full moon, unless satisfied by a man, then the nymphs may die. It's hard for Didi to understand all her life has been a huge lie. But her new found life both scares and fascinates her.
It's a tale of young love and power, its about figuring out who you are and how to control it. But then when you do fall in love, no nymph can really be with a human with out killing them, its learning how to overcome that. I enjoyed the learnings and the dynamic between the three girls.
The ending did confuse me but perhaps i wasn't understanding the right parts. But its a really good book. If it has sequals i'll certainly read them. Also i must say the cover of this book is very striking, it demands attention!
