Fading southern belle Blanche Dubois depends on the kindness of strangers and is adrift in the modern world. When she arrives to stay with her sister Stella in a crowded, boisterous corner of New Orleans, her delusions of grandeur bring her into conflict with Stella's crude, brutish husband Stanley. Eventually their violent collision course causes Blanche's fragile sense of identity to crumble, threatening to destroy her sanity and her one chance of happiness.

What i liked most about this book, was the way it managed to feel like you were in New Orleans. The sights and sounds, the images this brought to life, was fantastic. It's a city I've always wanted to visit.

Also with this being set out in a play format i thought I would find it hard to understand or read. Like i figured it needed to be read by multipul people, but it actually flowed really well. I throughly enjoyed the story. I did feel sorry for Blanche at the end although felt all three main characters were caught up with their own issues.
