The 9th girl is the ninth body to turn up in Minneapolis in 2012. When Kovac and Liska take on the case, they discover that this victim has been found without any identifiable characteristics. Before the investigation is through, the case will take them deep into the life and death of a teenager who just wanted to be 'normal'.

What is it with me getting books mid-way through a series. Anyways no idea why i picked this up. But the story was really good. It's new years eve and a zombie is thrown of the boot of a car causing a pile up. No deaths, except the zombie. It brings together Kovac and Liska who taken on the case believing their new year ends, exactly like it was started. Finding a dead body.

Eight girls have been killed, always on or found around a holiday time, is this the 9th? I enjoyed this book as it wasn't your typical who dunnit, it was more personal, we got into the everyday life of Liska and her demands of being a single mom to two boys plus a crazy job.

You do sometimes wonder why you are finding out so much about Liska and her children and what rounds everyone up. But it falls together perfectly at the end. Perhaps is really obvious but there are some good moments, where you think, what. Perhaps i'm just a tad trusting an never expect half of the other characters to be involved.

It is a really good book, i think I would like to read the previous to understand the two main characters more. They work fantastically togehter and you can see they're such a team.
