Four days into a five day singles cruise on the Gulf of Mexico, the ageing ship Beautiful Dreamer stops dead in the water. With no electricity and no cellular signals, the passengers and crew have no way to call for help. But everyone is certain that rescue teams will come looking for them soon. All they have to do is wait. That is, until the toilets stop working and the food begins to run out. When the body of a woman is discovered in her cabin the passengers start to panic. There's a murderer on board the Beautiful Dreamer... and maybe something worse.
A crusise ship from hell. Three days of plain sailing the fourth, turns into a nightmare. Why? Who's behind it and what exactly aren't people telling the guests.
This is the follow up book to 'The Three' which i totally adored and recommend you read. However 'Day Four' whilst the basis of this book interested me, the story totally confused me at the very end.
The story runs a little clearer than that of 'The Three' but I'm still unsure what happened. We are told from different characters view points. The phsyic, her assistant, some nut job kid out the prove she's a fraud. The chamber maid and the security, also a sweet old couple who plan on killing themselves.
When the cruise ship first stops the passagers aren't worried, they're provided with updates and surely they'll get it all fixed. When the days start to drag on, food, water and even toilets are scarce, tempers flare and hell breaks loose. Whilst all this is happening, a physic, who couldn't do much before, can suddenly perform for days and gather a huge crowd.
I liked the idea, i just found the ending extremely confusing. Like, what happened. Why did people suddenly leave the ship for a private island, how did it even start back up again?
Three is the better book.
